Storage and Transport:Blood:
Deliver to the Laboratory within 4 hours for processing. Remote Locations : 1)Separate plasma from whole blood within 6 hours of collection by centrifugation at 800-1600 x g for 20 minutes at room temperature.2)Transfer plasma to a sterile polypropylene tube.3)Store plasma in the refrigerator at 2-8ºC immediately after separation.
NOTE: before sending the plasma, wrap the tube with an ice pack (previously storage in the freezer at -20ºC or lower) to ensure that plasma is maintain at a temperature between 2-8ºC during transportation.
